Ravi Shastri is set to make his return to the commentary box in this year’s IPL season. The former Indian cricketer had a successful stint as the coach of the Indian cricket team. Ahead of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, Shastri and Raina addressed a virtual press conference. Both commentators gave their views on the upcoming season. Shastri gave his views on how the IPL can help the Indian team find its next captain.

Ravi Shastri has spent much time with most of the capped Indian players who will play in the 2022 Indian Premier League season. Shastri felt that KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are among the contenders to take over the Indian cricket team’s reins in the future.

“There is Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul – all have the ability and they will be leading an IPL team this year. In the future, India will be looking for a solid captain and the IPL is your platform,” said Shastri.

Iyer will captain Kolkata Knight Riders, while Pant will lead the Delhi Capitals. Lucknow Super Giants will make their IPL 2022 debut under KL Rahul. It will be interesting to see which player impresses the most as a captain.
