India will reportedly tour West Indies for three ODIs and five T20Is later this year. The three one-dayers will be a part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, while the T20Is will help both sides finalize their combinations ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. India will play two T20Is in USA.
This brief tour will also help the Indian stars get some experience of playing in the West Indies and the USA. Two years later, the two nations will play host to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. According to a report by Cricbuzz, the tour will get underway on July 22 with a three-match ODI series. Queens Park Oval in Trinidad will host the matches on July 22, 24 and 27.
The first T20I will happen at the newly-built Brian Charles Lara Stadium on July 29. St Kitts and Nevis will host the next two T20Is on August 1 and 2. The final two T20Is will happen on August 6 and 7 at Fort Lauderdale in Florida.
Here is the full schedule for the India vs West Indies series:
First ODI – July 22, Second ODI – July 24, Third ODI – July 27, First T20 – July 29, Second T20 – August 1, Third T20 – August 2, Fourth T20 – August 6, Fifth T20 – August 7
We are waiting for the sanctioning from the USA: CWI will announce schedule for India series soon
Speaking with Cricbuzz, a Cricket West Indies (CWI) official informed that they are waiting for the clearance from the American authorities. Once they get the clearance, they will announce the schedule for the matches of India in USA.
“Those are the dates and the schedule will be announced once the clearance from the US comes. We are waiting for the sanctioning from the US,” said the CWI official.
Earlier this year, West Indies played an away series against the Men in Blue. Rohit Sharma’s men dominated their opponents and finished with a 6-0 scoreline. It will be interesting to see if they can replicate their past performance in the away series.
