Pakistan penalized five runs for Babar Azam’s mistake
Being held in Multan, the second ODI promised to be an engaging encounter after the first innings. Despite a good start, the hosts were restricted to 275 and hence, West Indies was in the game. However, Mohammad Nawaz had a terrific night and the target became a big task for the visitors. In the end, Pakistan cruised to a 120 runs victory in the game.
However, this could have been a 125-run victory if not for a minor blip in concentration by the team. While fielding, captain Babar Azam used the wicket-keeper’s gloves. However, as per the law, only the player behind the stumps is allowed to make use of it. Hence, Pakistan was given a penalty of five runs. Although it did not affect the chances of Pakistan, the team would be wary of this in future games.
A rare thing happened tonight. West Indies were awarded 5 penalty runs due to illegal fielding by Pakistan.

The hosts are in excellent form
Pakistan is in brilliant form at the moment. While they won the first game despite chasing a 300+ total, they clinched a victory by defending a par score in the second ODI. The batters were in good form in the first game and it was the bowlers who stepped up in the second.
Babar Azam is in fine form in this series as well. He has already got a hundred and a half-century with a game to go. With the series wrapped up, the management could make a few changes for the final game.
