“If we play like this, nobody can beat us,” says Ravindra Jadeja as India bounces back with a slight chance in T20 World Cup

Ravindra Jadeja took full advantage of a slightly helpful pitch at Dubai while bowling first

Ravindra Jadeja reckons India played the right brand of cricket against Scotland which was why they were able to put on such a dominating show in a game that was extremely important for them to keep their semi-final qualification hopes alive.

Jadeja himself was the star of the show for India as he dismissed three Scot batsmen with some quality left-arm spin bowling and made sure Scotland was limited to a score that could be chased in a very short span of time.

The Indian openers came firing on all cylinders in response and got the job done in just 39 balls with some ultra-aggressive strokeplay to all corners of the ground.

India were a bit too circumspect with the bat in their first two games

The Indian team wasn’t quite as aggressive with the bat against Pakistan and New Zealand as they have been against Afghanistan and Scotland and while there may have been a deliberate attempt to be a bit more aggressive, what also can’t be ignored is the fact that they have batted in different conditions in the last two games.

While the match against Afghanistan was in Abu Dhabi, where the surface doesn’t quite suit the bowlers on most days, they batted second against Scotland at Dubai International Cricket Stadium when the batting conditions were much easier. Comparing that to their first two games where they had to bat first on two tacky surfaces, it wasn’t really easy to play the big shots.

Ravindra Jadeja, however, wants India to continue playing the brand of cricket they have played in the last two games. The left-arm spinner is of the opinion if India plays like this and be on the attack most of the time, it will be hard for any team in the world to beat India in T20 cricket.

“We were looking to play our best game and give our 100% on the field. One more game to go, hopefully, we play like this. If we play like this, nobody can beat us. In T20 format, we have to play like this,” Jadeja said while talking to the broadcasters in the post-match presentation ceremony.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
