“If He Is Ever In Need, I Will Be 1st Person Standing”- Gautam Gambhir Says He Deeply Respects MS Dhoni

Gautam Gambhir has put a full stop to all the rumors of him having a rift with MS Dhoni. Both Dhoni and Gambhir have played a lot of cricket together. They have been members of the leadership group at the same time. In fact, Gambhir led India when Dhoni was unavailable.

However, there were always reports claiming that Dhoni and Gambhir’s relationship was not the best. Some even felt they had a rift. However, Gautam has slammed the baseless rumors and said that he deeply respects Dhoni.

In a recent interview with Jatin Sapru on his YouTube show Over and Out, the Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir commented on his relation with Dhoni. He clarified that nothing is wrong between him. Also, he added that if MS Dhoni is ever in need, he will be the first person standing next to him.

“I have so much of mutual respect for him and it’ll always remain. I’ve said it on air, I can say it anywhere in front of 138 crore people, that if ever in need, I hope he’s never in need, but if ever in need in life, I’ll be the first one standing next to him,” said Gambhir.

Gambhir has deep respect for Dhoni because of his contribution to Indian cricket

Further explaining the reason behind his deep respect for the Chennai Super Kings skipper, Gautam added that he will always respect Dhoni because of his contributions to the Indian cricket team. Under Dhoni, India won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ICC World Cup.

In fact, Gambhir played a match-winning knock for the Men in Blue in the final matches of both mega events. Now, both Dhoni and Gautam’s teams will go head-to-head in IPL 2022, with the Lucknow Super Giants battling the Chennai Super Kings on March 31 in Mumbai.
