The Indian wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has refused that he is in any sort of competition with Yuzvendra Chahal for the purple cap in the ongoing season of the IPL.
Chahal and Kuldeep are currently sitting at the top two positions in the list of leading wicket takers in IPL 2022 and it is believed that one of these two spinners will win the purple cap this season, as the pitches are starting to assist the spinners now and will continue to do so.
Kuldeep Yadav got 4 wickets against his former team KKR yesterday, a feat which he had already achieved against KKR once before this season. The way the ball is coming out of Kuldeep’s hand at the moment and the way he is being able to execute his skills, it seems he will get many more wickets in the competition going forward.
Yuzvendra Chahal is like my big brother: Kuldeep Yadav
Talking about his competition with Yuzvendra Chahal, who is also in brilliant form in this IPL, Kuldeep said that his relationship with Chahal is like that of a brother.
Kuldeep revealed when he was injured and was going through his rehabilitation, it was Chahal who used to call him the most and motivate him. So, if anything, he himself wants Chahal to win the purple cap and there is no question of a competition between the two of them at all.
There is a T20 World Cup to take place in Australia at the end of this year and India will probably pick one wrist spinner in the squad for the tournament.
On current form, one out of Kuldeep or Chahal is expected to be selected. However, for the last World Cup, neither Kuldeep nor Chahal had got a place in the squad and it was actually Rahul Chahar who had got a nod from the selectors because of his quality of being quick through the air.
