Back in 2004, India were literally struggling to find raw talent. They were desperately searching for a wicketkeeper-batsman who can help the team. However, after several attempts, the selectors decided to find the perfect one, which is Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Despite getting off to a dismal start to his career, MS Dhoni announced himself in style with a rock-solid 148 against the Pakistan cricket team and there was no looking back since then.
Talking about the competition he faced with MS Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik said the Dhoni mania was so huge that you had to pick him in the first place.
Recalling the first time he played with MS Dhoni, Karthik said he played so well in India A tour that the selectors picked him. From then, Dhoni played pretty well in another ODI tournament by blasting sixes and fours.
Since then, MS Dhoni replaced Dinesh Karthik in all three formats. Karthik further added that MS Dhoni did very well. Last but not least, Karthik echoed that it is all about taking opportunities at the right time.
MS Dhoni went on to become the most successful captain of India as he helped the team win the ICC T20 World Cup 2007, ICC ODI World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013.
