‘I have no time for you as a human’: Dale Steyn slams Simon Doull for his mid-life crises’ remark

There is no denying that Dale Steyn hasn’t been the bowler he used to be. And being a 37-year old fast bowler, you wouldn’t expect him too. In the last couple of years, the South African cricketer hasn’t had a lot of great outings with the ball.

In the recent game between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi, Dale Steyn went for 44 runs in his four overs. His underwhelming performance didn’t help the side register a win in the high-scoring contest.

Meanwhile, there has been a lot talked about Steyn’s new hairstyle, lately. However, cricket commentator Simon Doull’s recent comment on the same seems to have not gone down well with the pacer.

Post the completion of the 8th match, Steyn was seen sitting in the dressing room. Speaking about Steyn’s long hair, Doull commented, ‘middle life crises with that hair’.

It was followed by a fellow commentator remarking, ‘lock-down hair’.

Dale Steyn, later, didn’t mince words to lambast Simon Doull on Twitter.

He first asked,

“Question which commentator said I have a mid-life crisis?”

In his next tweet, Steyn advised the commentator to talk about the game rather than abuse anyone over their weight, background or Hairstyle etc.

He wrote,

“If your job is to talk about the game, then do that. But if you use that airtime to abuse, anyone, for their weight, sexual choices, ethnic backgrounds, lifestyle etc or even hairstyles, then I m afraid I have no time for you as a human. You and anyone else like that to be fair,”

Dale Steyn’s side, Quetta Gladiators is enduring a lean spell in the tournament. They are languishing at the bottom of the table, having not won a single game out of three played so far. They will play their fourth game against Imad Wasim-led Karachi Kings on Wednesday.
