2 players from Stephen Fleming’s Southern Brave whom CSK might target for IPL 2024

The Hundred 2023 is ongoing right now. IPL franchises will be aware of some good performers in the competition. In fact, a few coaches who are operating in the Hundred are also Head Coaches in the Indian Premier League. Stephen Fleming is one of them. With the 2024 T20 World Cup scheduled right after the IPL window, Fleming can expect some surprises regarding the overseas stars for CSK. Hence, he must have some alternatives in mind. On that note, here, we take a look at two players from Stephen Fleming’s Southern Brave whom CSK might target for IPL 2024.

1) James Vince

It is surprising that James Vince has neither played a lot for England nor has he got a good chance in the IPL. This is despite him being consistent in various T20 leagues across the globe. However, his chance could come up in IPL 2024.

Vince is an experienced campaigner and he can be a suitable backup option for someone like Devon Conway. Especially if Ben Stokes is unavailable, there needs to be a good alternative and CSK can target Fleming’s current skipper in the Hundred.

2) Rehan Ahmed

Rehan Ahmed is one of the players from Stephen Fleming’s Southern Brave whom CSK might target for IPL 2024. CSK unearthed someone like Matheesha Pathirana recently. They would now want to focus on the spin department. With Maheesh Theekshana showing inconsistent form, it would make sense for the franchise to have an eye on a youngster like Rehan Ahmed.

At a young age, Rehan has already shown immense potential. He also became the youngest Test debutant for England a few months ago. CSK anyways does not have a reliable leg-spinner in the option. As the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali get old, there needs to be a few options that have be developed in this department. It could start with Rehan.
