“Good Start But Lost His Tempo”- Shahid Afridi Reacts To Babar Azam’s 73-ball 100 Against Australia

The second match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series between the Pakistan cricket team and the Australian cricket team happened yesterday in Lahore, where the Pakistan cricket team beat the Aussies riding on centuries from Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq.

The Australian cricket team batted first and posted a 348-run total on the board. It seemed like they would take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series by winning this game just like they won the first match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series against the Pakistan cricket team.

However, Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq had other plans. While Imam scored 106 runs off 97 balls for the home side, Babar raced to his 15th ODI century off just 73 balls. During that innings, he became the fastest to score 15 ODI tons in terms of innings batted by a player in the ODI format.

While Babar played a match-winning knock and helped the Pakistan cricket team pull off their highest successful run-chase in ODI cricket history, former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi was not impressed with the way Babar batted after settling down.

Waiting for him to step up as a match winner: Shahid Afridi comments on Babar Azam

Babar Azam ended his innings with 114 runs off 83 balls, but Afridi felt he needs to step up in the coming game. Here’s what he wrote on Twitter:

“Amazing WIN! Good start by @babarazam258 but lost his tempo, waiting for him to step up as a match winner. Regardless, great overall performances by @KhushdilShah_ @ImamUlHaq12 @iShaheenAfridi. You made us proud Keep it up boys.”
