Gautam Gambhir Is Happy With Low Scoring Matches In IPL 2021

Former Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir has stated that he is happy to see the number of low-scoring matches in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. Initially, during the first phase of IPL 2021, fans witnessed high-scoring matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium and the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. However, scoring runs was tough at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Now, the action of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League has moved to the United Arab Emirates. There are three venues in the UAE that are hosting the IPL matches. The first is the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi where batting has been relatively easier. The second is the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, where bowlers have enjoyed more. The last one is the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, which was a batting paradise last year but has been a nightmare for the batters in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League so far.

“I don’t want a run feast. I hate it. I don’t want the bowlers to be slaughtered everywhere. It’s a small ground. I want something like this,” Gambhir said while talking about the Sharjah Cricket Stadium

The former Indian batter feels tonight’s IPL 2021 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad is not irrelevant

Some fans feel that tonight’s IPL 2021 fixture featuring the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad does not have much importance because RCB have already qualified for the playoffs, while SRH have already been eliminated. Gambhir has a different view about tonight’s match. Speaking on the same show, Gambhir added:

“It’s not an irrelevant match. This is because it’s extremely important for RCB. They will know how crucial it is to finish in the top 2. Primarily for this reason, even if you slip up in qualifier 1, you would still have that one extra opportunity to reach the finals of the competition. Whereas, if any side finishes in third or fourth position, all their two months of hard work can be wasted easily.”
