‘Go Sit On A Beach, Take A Three-Month Break’-Former English Cricketer Wants Virat Kohli To Be Away From Cricketing Action For A Long Time To Regain His Form

Michael Vaughan, a former England captain, told Virat Kohli that he should take a three-month break from cricket to help himself in the long run, especially before the T20 World Cup in Australia in October and November. Since November 2019, Kohli hasn’t hit a century in any form of the game. He’s been going through a rough patch.

The batting superstar was in India’s starting lineup for the just-ended rescheduled fifth Test match against England in Birmingham, which England won by seven wickets. Kohli’s performance was terrible, as he only scored 31 runs in the match (11 and 20). In the second innings, captain Ben Stokes got rid of him in a bad way with a delivery that bounced more than usual after being thrown.

Michael Vaughan says Virat Kohli needs a break

“I pay close attention to Virat. I knew that he took a break after the IPL was over. But it seems to me that he needs a break. He looks like he needs to take a break from cricket for three months. Go sit on a beach,” Vaughan said when he was talking to Cricbuzz.

“Go spend as much time as you can with your family, because he’s probably going to have a 20-year career because he’s such a good player. Is it going to hurt him to take a break for three months? No. Will that help? Yes,” he added.

Kohli used to be the best batter in all formats, but he has been out of form for a long time and has now dropped out of the top 10 in both Tests and T20Is. He has also been added to the Indian team for the second and third T20Is against England.

Kohli, along with other key players like captain Rohit Sharma, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, etc., has been rested for the away limited-overs series against the West Indies that starts on July 22.
