‘I Do Not Share Dravid’s Viewpoint’-Former Pakistani Spinner Wants Rahul Dravid To Select Suryakumar Yadav Over Shreyas Iyer

On June 26, Team India will make its comeback to competition in the Twenty20 International version of the game when the squad travels to Malahide to take on Ireland in the first of two Twenty20 Internationals. After playing in the Indian Premier League for the previous two months, the Indian national cricket team just recently participated in a Twenty20 International (T20I) series at home against South Africa earlier this month. The series consisted of five matches and marked the players’ return to international competition.

Suryakumar Yadav, who was out with an injury during the series against South Africa, will be able to make his comeback to the team for the next series against Ireland. In addition, Rahul Tripathi was given his first call-up to an international squad for this series, while wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson made a comeback to the team. In the two Twenty20 Internationals, the squad will be captained by all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

What did Danish Kaneria say about Suryakumar Yadav

Since making his Twenty20 International debut against England a year ago, Suryakumar has been one of the most consistent members of the Indian Twenty20 team. However, ailments have kept him out of action over the course of the previous several months. Even when playing for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, the batter, who is 31 years old, was forced to miss several games due to injury. Shreyas Iyer was the one to step in in his absence, but former Pakistani spinner Danish Kaneria suggested that Suryakumar should be the first pick whenever he gets back into the lineup.

“There have been rumors claiming that Rahul Dravid thinks Shreyas Iyer is more mature than Suryakumar Yadav. However, I do not share Dravid’s viewpoint on this matter. It would be unreasonable to deny Suryakumar Yadav the opportunity he deserves at this stage in his life. Iyer will need to produce consistently if he wants to keep his position in the side. Otherwise, there’s no way that he can keep his place in the side,” Kaneria stated on his official YouTube channel. “

Additionally, Shreyas Iyer is not a part of the squad for both games since he will be with the Test team for the fifth match of the series against England, which is slated to be contested between July 1 and 5 in Edgbaston. Suryakumar is expected to participate in the XI in the T20Is against Ireland.
