India’s jersey for 2021 T20 WC released today

On Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the jersey that Team India will be donning at the 2021 T20 World Cup. Called the “Billion Cheers Jersey”, the new kit will replace the existing retro kit.

As per the statement by MPL Sports, the soundwave pattern has been inspired by the fans. The statement said, “This is the first time in the history of Indian cricket that fans have been memorialised on a jersey. It carries their chants and cheers from iconic past matches, transformed into unique soundwave patterns.”

It is a unique way to honour the fans who have been behind the team for a long time. On October 17th, the T20 World Cup would begin. The event will take place in the UAE and Oman this year. Team India will be one of the firm favourites to lift the trophy. Having not won an ICC event in recent years, Virat Kohli‘s men will want to deliver the goods in the UAE. Meanwhile, BCCI has announced that Shardul Thakur will replace Axar Patel in the final squad for the upcoming T20 WC. Axar Patel will take Shardul’s place on the standby list.
