On Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the jersey that Team India will be donning at the 2021 T20 World Cup. Called the “Billion Cheers Jersey”, the new kit will replace the existing retro kit.

Unlike the previous jersey which was inclining more towards a navy-blue hue, the newly released pattern is more of a dark blue. One of the striking features of the jersey is the unique soundwave patterns across the kit. We talk about the meaning of the same in the below heading.

As per the statement by MPL Sports, the soundwave pattern has been inspired by the fans. The statement said, “This is the first time in the history of Indian cricket that fans have been memorialised on a jersey. It carries their chants and cheers from iconic past matches, transformed into unique soundwave patterns.”

It is a unique way to honour the fans who have been behind the team for a long time. On October 17th, the T20 World Cup would begin. The event will take place in the UAE and Oman this year.
