The first Indian batter to get dismissed for 199 in Test Cricket was former skipper Mohammad Azharuddin. The right-hander achieved the unwanted feat in the first Test of the series against Sri Lanka in 1986. The batting great stepped on the field when India was 380/4. He held one end and played a staggering inning. Azharuddin classically crafted his innings and smashed 16 fours and 1 six in his innings that took his side past 659 runs. He fell one short of his double ton as he was trapped in lbw by Ravi Ratnayake.

KL Rahul vs England in 2016

Current Indian batter KL Rahul became the only second Indian batter to get dismissed on 199. He achieved the feat in the fifth Test of the series against England in Chennai. Opening the innings, Rahul looked settled for most of his innings and played controlled shots all over the park. His knock was one of the main reasons behind India posting a total of over 750 in the second innings. The Karnataka player scored 16 fours and 3 sixes in his 311-ball knock. He was caught at point for 199 as he tried to sneak a single.
