“Don’t disturb me after cricket,” Quinton de Kock sends a cheeky message to IPL franchises

Quinton de Kock was asked a question on the show The Grade Cricketer

Generally, the environment during the IPL is so tensed because of the pressure that every game brings that very rarely do the fans get to see the funny side of the cricketers, but on a show named The Grade Cricketer, the Lucknow Supergiants opener Quinton de Kock came up with a very funny answer when he was asked what honor he would want from a club which he has served with excellence.

Quinton de Kock is a very soft-spoken man and has hardly been in any controversy because of his statements. He doesn’t come across as a very cheeky individual either, but to that particular question, he had a cheeky answer. De Kock said that the biggest honor that he would like from his club team is that they shouldn’t disturb him after cricket.

While De Kock didn’t elaborate his point any further, he was probably talking about a lot of commercial events that the players have to engage into and commit to during the IPL. There have been a lot of ad shoots and a lot of merchandise signing and the players are bound to do that for their respective franchises.

Quinton de Kock was perhaps talking in that regard that if he is left undisturbed after the game is over, he would probably take it as an honor and that’s the only thing he wants from any club or franchise he plays for.

Quinton de Kock is a two-time IPL champion with Mumbai Indians

De Kock is currently a part of the Lucknow Supergiants squad, but he has been a back-to-back IPL winner in the past with Mumbai Indians. He was traded from RCB to Mumbai Indians before IPL 2019 and then he went on to win two consecutive IPL titles with Mumbai Indians in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

The performance of the South African wicketkeeper in the ongoing IPL 2022 has been decent as well, as he has played some crucial innings at the top of the order for Lucknow Supergiants.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
