Dinesh Karthik might not have accomplished great things in his international career. However, he earned the title of Nidahas Trophy final hero for steering Team India to a memorable win over Bangladesh in the final.

When India required five runs off the last ball in the 2018 Nidahas Trophy Final, Dinesh Karthik pulled off the unthinkable as he smashed a six to help India chase down the target in the nail-biting encounter.

Dinesh Karthik who was also a part of the 2007 World Cup-winning squad has represented Team India in 26 Tests, 94 ODIs and 60 T20Is. He scored 1025 runs in Tests including one century and seven fifties to his name.

On the other hand, he scored 1752 runs in ODIs including nine fifties. Last but not least, he scored 686 runs in 60 T20Is including one fifty and has maintained a strike rate of 142.62.

The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman has also enjoyed plying his trade as a commentator in the last few years. In fact, he received a tremendous response from the fans from every nook and corner of the cricket fraternity.

Dinesh Karthik knows about the game to a great extent and based on his commentary, one can literally say that he has in-depth knowledge of the cricketing subject that he is talking about.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik will return to the commentary box during the Ashes 2023 according to The Telegraph. It will be quite interesting to see what the future holds in store for Dinesh Karthik. The Ashes 2023 will begin on June 16.

Apart from Dinesh Karthik, the other nine members who will be a part of the commentary panel include Eoin Morgan, Kevin Pietersen, Ricky Ponting, Mark Taylor, Kumar Sangakkara, Mel Jones, Ian Ward, Nasser Hussain, Atherton, Mark Butcher and Andrew Strauss.

Dinesh Karthik will be next seen in action for the upcoming edition of the IPL as he will ply his trade as a wicketkeeper-batsman for RCB.
