Dental visit might have infected Rishabh Pant with Covid 19 – Reports

The India tour of England, which is all set to Kickstart from August 2021, has been facing some trouble. The Delta variant of the Covid 19 virus has affected some of the integral members of the Indian side. Post WTC final, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and others were given a break from the bio bubble to ease the pressure.

This led to players going out, which risked the situation. The Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant tested positive on July 8 and isolated himself at his friend’s house. Following the case, he might not participate in India’s practice game against Select County XI on July 20.

According to reports, Rishabh Pant might have got infected during his doctor’s visit on July 5 and 6. A source in Times of India stated that, “Pant had gone to a dentist on July 5 and 6 and could have picked the virus from the clinic. On July 7, he had been vaccinated.”

The secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Jay Shah, informed that “He is being closely monitored by the BCCI medical team and is on his way to recovery. He will be able to join the squad in Durham after returning two negative RT-PCR tests.”

Sourav Ganguly opined his views on it too. He added that it is not practically possible to wear a mask all the time. However, on a positive note, all the players have got their second dose of the Covid vaccine, giving them protection.

Rishabh Pant has been the lead guy for India when it comes to donning the gloves. Even though he didn’t find his rhythm during the WTC final, he will be hoping to showcase his fundamental skills against the English side in the Test series.
