Delhi Capitals rejuvenated with availability of overseas stars before game against Lucknow Supergiants

Delhi Capitals had been operating without the services of some of their key overseas players so far

Shane Watson, the assistant coach of Delhi Capitals, has confirmed that two of their key overseas players David Warner and Anrich Nortje will be available for selection for their next match against Lucknow Supergiants which will be played tomorrow.

Delhi Capitals have had a mixed bag in this year’s IPL so far, as they have won and lost one out of the two games that they have played in IPL 2022 and one of the reasons they have been a little shaky is because not all of their overseas players have been available.

In the two games that Delhi has played till now in the tournament, they haven’t gone with their full quota of 4 overseas players in either of those two games because their first choice overseas players haven’t been available.

However, now with Watson confirming that Warner and Nortje are available for selection, Delhi will most likely be at their full strength against Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) who have been one of the in-form teams in the tournament so far.

Mitchell Marsh might still not be available for Delhi Capitals

There are, however, still question marks over the availability of Mitchell Marsh who was a big buy for Delhi Capitals in the auction after his heroics in the T20 World Cup final. Marsh doesn’t just give Delhi an explosive batting option at the top of the order, he also gives them a 6th bowling option.

According to Shane Watson, Marsh will have to go through a fitness test before it gets determined if he is match fit or not, but Warner and Nortje have already gone through that and they will most likely be picked in the playing XI against LSG.

While Warner will walk into the playing XI of Delhi on the place of the New Zealand opener Tim Seifert, Nortje will probably replace Khaleel Ahmed who has not bowled particularly poorly, but might still have to make way for Nortje.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
