“For Those Confused”- A Twitter User Explains Why Sami Zayn Is Wrestling On WWE’s Saudi Arabia Show In 2023

WWE surprised the fans last night on SmackDown when they announced a match for the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship at Night of Champions 2023. The Night of Champions show will take place in Saudi Arabia, a country where Sami Zayn has never wrestled before.

The reason behind it was Zayn’s connection with Syria and the relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia. Many fans felt that WWE would leave Zayn and Kevin Owens off the WWE Night of Champions 2023 match card due to the same reason. However, on SmackDown, WWE booked a match involving the reigning tag team champs.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will put their titles on the line against the duo of Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa in Saudi Arabia. A popular Twitter user then clarified the confusion regarding Sami’s sudden appearance on the Saudi match card and said:

“For those confused about Sami Zayn all of a sudden working Saudi Arabia shows now, a reason that could hint up clearance: A few days ago, after more than a decade later Saudi Arabia & Syria decided to resume diplomatic working relations in both countries.”

Sami Zayn will wrestle his 1st match in Saudi Arabia on May 27

Two weeks later, Saudi Arabia will host the Night of Champions premium live event. The company has announced three massive matches for the show thus far. Apart from Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, the show also features a World Heavyweight Title match between AJ Styles and Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins.
