Baby AB Hits ‘No Look Six’ In Debut IPL Match, Video Goes Viral

Before the IPL Mega Auction 2022, several big names were in the discussion. There was also one young name in that mix, and he was the U-19 star of South Africa – Dewald Brevis. Nicknamed Baby AB, Brevis came into the limelight after his stellar performances for South Africa in the ICC U-19 World Cup.

Many fans expected that AB de Villiers’ former franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore would sign Dewald at the mega auction. However, five-time champions Mumbai Indians emerged as the first home of Brevis in the Indian Premier League.

Although he had done well in the U-19 World Cup 2022, the South African star had to warm the benches in the first two matches of the Mumbai Indians team in IPL 2022. He finally received a chance to play tonight against the Kolkata Knight Riders in place of Singapore’s Tim David.

Brevis came out to bat at number three for MI and scored 29 runs off 19 balls. He smashed two fours and two sixes on his IPL debut. One of the maximums was a no-look six off the bowling of mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy. You can watch the video here:

It is a huge honour to be a part of a franchise with an amazing record like Mumbai Indians: Baby AB Dewald Brevis

Before the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League got underway, Brevis took part in an interview with the Times of India, where he shared his feelings about earning a contract from the Mumbai Indians. Here’s what he had to say:

“It is a huge honour to be a part of a franchise with an amazing record like Mumbai Indians. Me and my brother idolised so many players in the Mumbai family while we grew up. Sachin Tendulkar is one of my childhood heroes.”
