Allan Donald Opened Up About Kohli’s Earlier Vision Of Taking India To The Top

In the wake of India’s historic victory at Lord’s, one of the legendary bowlers of all time, Allan Donald, shared how Kohli once shared a dream with him that revolved around India becoming the number one Test team of the world.

On a YouTube talk show called Cricket Life Stories in 2015, Virat told Donald that he will make the Indian cricket team the best in the world. This was said by the Indian run machine when fell to a poor 7th position in the world rankings.

Kohli also mentioned to the South African speedster that it will be a well-groomed bowling attack that would lead the revolution.

Donald was heard quoting, “I remember Virat’s words in 2015 when he said to me India will become world’s No.1 Test team, and he wasn’t wrong. He knew where he was going. He said: ‘I want this to be the fittest team, I want us to be the greatest team on the planet, knowing that we can play away from home, knowing we can beat anyone and that’s going to take a very good bowling attack to do so'”.

Allan Donald, who is also known as the White Lightning also heaped a boatload of praises on Bumrah as the Indian pacer claimed 95 Test wickets from just 22 games. Donald quoted, “Young Bumrah for me, well, this kid has come a long way. You know, he’s just been a sensation in all formats of the game.”

India will be playing the third Test at Headingley that will begin on 25th August and will be an interesting contest to watch as a result in India’s favour can be absolutely historical.
