India has many cricket stadiums that host domestic and international cricket matches. The upcoming edition of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is going to be held entirely in India for the first time.

The mega event will be staged in the October-November window. Ahead of the highly-anticipated tournament, the BCCI is expected to do a huge upgrade on five cricket stadiums in India.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is one of the wealthiest cricket boards in the world without any doubt. They have generated immense revenue over the decades and are planning to revamp the five stadiums ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Meanwhile, the projected cost of renovation for the five stadiums in India is so huge and the cost is expected to increase to a great extent if roof work is involved. Take a look at it below.

1. Arun Jaitley Stadium

Arun Jaitley Stadium is a cricket stadium located in Delhi, India. The stadium has a seating capacity of over 41,000. In fact, the stadium has undergone several renovations over the years. Meanwhile, BCC is planning to revamp it entirely and it will cost Rs 100 crore to revamp the Delhi stadium.

2. Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium

It will cost a staggering amount of Rs 117.17 crore to revamp the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Located in Uppal, the stadium has a seating capacity of over 55,000 spectators.

3. Eden Gardens

Located in the heart of Kolkata, Eden Gardens is one of the most popular cricket venues in India. It will cost Rs 127.47 crore to revamp the iconic stadium.

4. Punjab Cricket Association Stadium

The Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, also known as the PCA Stadium has a seating capacity of over 26,000 spectators. It will cost INR 79.46 crore to revamp the Mohali Stadium.

5. Wankhede Stadium

The Wankhede Stadium has a seating capacity of over 33,000 spectators. It will cost INR 78.82 crore to revamp the Wankhede Stadium.
