3 changes India could do for the 3rd ODI against NZ considering the series is won

India clinched the ongoing ODI series with victories in the first two games. At Raipur, it was a convincing victory by the hosts as the bowlers did the job in the first innings. Now that the series is in the bag and with the focus firmly on more depth for the ODI World Cup 2023, India could make a few changes for the last game at Indore. On that note, here, we take a look at three changes India could do for the 3rd ODI against NZ considering the series is won.

1) Rajat Patidar for Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill has now confirmed his spot as the opener in the ODI XI. Now, India would want him to do well in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. At the same time, the management would want to give sufficient games to the backup opener, too.

Ishan Kishan played at No.4 in this series. If Gill is rested, Ishan can open the batting and Rajat Patidar can operate at No.4. Patidar is from Indore and it would be a memorable moment for him to make his debut at his home ground.

2) Yuzvendra Chahal for Kuldeep Yadav

Chahal for Kuldeep Yadav is one of the changes India could do for the 3rd ODI against NZ considering the series is won. Kuldeep Yadav will play an important role in the upcoming BGT.

Meanwhile, India would want to also keep Chahal ready in case there are any injury issues. For this reason, the right-arm leggie could come into the XI for the final game in Indore.

3) Umran Malik for Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj has been in top form in recent months. Just like the others, he is too important for the Test side, too. Therefore, he deserves a rest.

India could try out Umran Malik in the ODI XI. It will be interesting to see how he performs with the new ball. He could get that opportunity if Siraj is not there for the final game against the Kiwis.
