2 players who might replace Kyle Jamieson in CSK if he is ruled out of IPL 2023

Chennai Super Kings had a decent auction. They were focused on buying certain players and it’s fair to say that they were quite composed and were on the mark. They brought the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Ben Stokes, Shaik Rasheed, Nishant Sindhu, Kyle Jamieson, Ajay Mandal, and Bhagath Varma. However, they might have suffered a blow ahead of the season as the New Zealand all-rounder is likely to be ruled out of the tournament due to injury. If the reports emerged to be true, then it’s fair to say that management might already have planned a replacement. As Jamieson is likely to be ruled out of the series, let’s take a look at 2 players who might replace him in CSK if he is ruled out of IPL 2023.

Dasun Shanaka

Sri Lanka all-rounder Dasun Shanaka went unsold in the IPL 2023 auction. It’s fair to say that he could be an ideal player for Chennai Super Kings instead of Kyle Jamieson if he gets ruled out as his ability to step up with both bat and ball could’ve been handy for the four-time champions. His batting will boost CSK’s lower order and with him being an economical fast bowler, he can be a great support to new recruit Ben Stokes. With CSK lacking seam-bowling all-rounders, it’s fair to say that they can acquire him as a replacement. The all-rounder has so far played 176 matches in the shortest format and has amassed 3649 runs at a strike rate of 142.65. He also has picked up 53 wickets at an economy of 8.72.

Jimmy Neesham

Another player who might replace Kyle Jamieson in CSK if he is ruled out of IPL 2023 is Jimmy  Neesham. The Kiwi all-rounder went unsold in the IPL 2023 and could be a great replacement player for the Dhoni-led side. Neesham has been in the top form and is performing consistently in the leagues across the world. He has a fair amount of experience of playing in IPL. With his ability to bat down the order and smash the ball hard along with his nag to pick wickets, he can be a handy replacement for the team. Neesham has played 14 games in IPL in which he has scored 92 runs and also has taken 8 wickets.
