2 different strategies CSK can try to register their first win in IPL 2022

Defending champions Chennai Super Kings are yet to win a game in IPL 2022. The squad, led by Ravindra Jadeja, has conceded four defeats so far. While inconsistent performances are the main reason, the franchise has also suffered due to unconvincing tactics. They next face Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday. On that note, in this article, we take a look at two different strategies CSK can try to register their first win in IPL 2022.

1) Moeen Ali as the opener to take advantage of Power Play

Moeen Ali has made the No.3 position his own ever since he arrived at CSK. However, now that the team is not doing well with the bat, it might not be a bad idea to ask the English all-rounder open the batting.

While the team can benefit from the left-right combination in the top order, Moeen can make the best use of the power play with his big-hitting skills. It would also not be a bad idea to play Ruturaj Gaikwad at No.3. The IPL 2021 Orange Cap winner is struggling to find form so far. He is good against spinners and maybe, CSK can use him at No.3 to anchor the innings. Usually, Rutu takes time to get going and this is one aspect he should avoid if he plays at No.3.

2) Dwaine Pretorius and Adam Milne in the pace attack

Using Dwaine Pretorius and Adam Milne in the pace attack is one of the strategies CSK can try to register their first win in IPL 2022. If Milne is fit, he should come straight into the XI in place of Chris Jordan. With Deepak Chahar absent, not many in the CSK roster offer better new-ball value than the Kiwi.

On the other hand, it was surprising that Dwaine Pretorius did not find a place in the playing XI for the last game. He made an impression in the middle-overs and CSK should try to slot him in the playing XI. Although it has not been on display yet, the South African is also a reliable batter in the lower order and the team can make use of his skills.
