3 Things That Are Yet To Change In IPL 2022

The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League started on March 26 with a clash between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and IPL 2021 runners-up Kolkata Knight Riders. In just two days, IPL 2022 will be a month old. Several records have already been broken in the grandest IPL season of all time.

Since there are 10 teams playing in the tournament, there have been lots of ups and downs for all franchises. However, there are some things which are yet to change in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. Here’s a look at those three things.

1. Kane Williamson is yet to lose a toss in IPL 2022

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson has had a great luck at the toss in this year’s matches. The Hyderabad-based franchise have played seven matches and have won all seven tosses so far. As has been the trend in this season, Williamson has won the toss and opted to bowl first on all occasions.

2. Umran Malik has won Fastest Delivery of the Match award in all games

When the new season of the Indian Premier League began, fans were amazed to see so many new awards. One of the new awards is the prize for the Fastest Delivery of the Match. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s uncapped star Umran Malik has taken a cheque of INR 1 lakh home in every game that he has played thanks to his express pace.

3. Mumbai Indians are yet to win a game in IPL 2022

In a rather unexpected development, five-time champions Mumbai Indians are yet to get off the mark on the standings. MI fans are already asking how many points are needed to qualify for the playoffs this year. 16 is a safe number, but with MI losing seven matches, they have very less chances of finishing in the Top 4 of the points table this season.
