Since India has got a very established test team at the moment, picking the playing XI for the World Test Championship (WTC) final seems like a straightforward task, but the Indian team management might surprise a few people with some of their calls.

Ishan Kishan
At the moment, it seems like KS Bharat would be the specialist wicketkeeper in India’s playing XI for the World Test Championship final, but it might change as well, because the other option that India has in the squad is pretty similar to Rishabh Pant.
Although Ishan Kishan’s technique hasn’t been tested thoroughly overseas, but he bats at a similar tempo like Rishabh Pant and can provide India that X factor with the bat lower down the order.
Jaydev Unadkat
Jaydev Unadkat is currently not in line to be a part of India’s playing XI in the World Test Championship final, but just because he is the only left armer in the squad and is capable of bowling long spells, the team management might consider the option of going ahead with Unadkat rather than Umesh Yadav.
India has already got Shami to bowl with the new ball, but what Unadkat will do, if he plays, is he will bring a different angle onto the table as he will bowl over the wicket to the right hander and swing the ball back into him, as compared to Shami who will mostly move the ball away from the right handers. Shami and Unadkat, in a way, can complement themselves with the new ball.
