BCCI announced the squad for the India A Team which will play a few games in Australia. In fact, a few of these players could also be in the team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Of course, they will also have to put in a strong show to get close to the squad. Here, we take a look at the list of three players selected for India A and could also be selected for the BGT Trophy 2024/25.

India A squad for the tour of Australia: Ruturaj Gaikwad (C), Abhimanyu Easwaran (VC), Sai Sudharsan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Devdutt Padikkal, Ricky Bhui, Baba Indrajith, Ishan Kishan (WK), Abishek Porel (WK), Mukesh Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Yash Dayal, Navdeep Saini, Manav Suthar, Tanush Kotian

1) Sai Sudharsan

India needs a backup opener for this series. While the player could get to make his debut in this series, for the future, at least, India needs to start grooming now.

Sai is an excellent player and he is in form. He is likely to open for India A and if he gets a few big scores, surely, he will be in the race to make it to Team India.

2) Nitish Kumar Reddy

Nitish Kumar Reddy is one of the players selected for India A and could also be selected for the BGT Trophy 2024/25. It is clear that BCCI is investing a lot in Nitish.

India needs a medium-pace bowling all-rounder and Nitish is someone the management can start to trust. At some point, India might need this option in the BGT. Hence, he could be selected for the event.

3) Mukesh Kumar

Mukesh Kumar did well in the Irani Trophy and he is someone whose bowling style could find success in Australia. Hence, he could be a part of the five-man pace attack.

A lot depends on the fitness of Shami. If Shami is not fit, Mukesh Kumar has a very good chance of getting selected to the Indian Team.
