Why was WWE forced to cancel New Year’s revolution?

Whenever we talk about WWE, there is a sense of nostalgia that reigns supreme and as we walk down the memory lane, the bosses of the company chose to bring back an old show, a pay-per-view called the WWE New Year’s Revolution.

This year’s New Year’s Revolution is going to be a special theme for the upcoming Friday night edition wherein WWE Raw also has the big thing coming up for the fans, christened as WWE Day 1: 2024. The New Year’s Revolution will be aired on 5^th January 2024.

What can you expect on WWE New Year’s Revolution?

The NYR was a show that made its debut on in 2005 and was deemed as the first PPV of the new year that happened before the Royal Rumble. Unfortunately, WWE had to take the show down a couple of years later as the company chose to cancel brand specified pay-per-views.

So which brand had the right for this PPV, well the red brand always blazed the trail like ever and held the rights too. In 2007, both the brands merged their PPVs and as a result, NYR got cancelled making Royal rumble the first show of a new year. This decision certainly left the fans with a bit of sadness but then in the era where whatever the industry did was being revolutionized by Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Rock, the fans would get back their joys in no time.

Quite obviously the return of this PPV has left the fans wondering what is in store while WWE is seriously planning some heavyweight surprises. Considering the fact that Raw is going to get Day 1, similarly, expect a few title matches on that day, where eventually chances are bare minimum that the tag titles will be changing hands, but who doesn’t like a belt battle, especially on the first day of the New Year.
