Irfan Pathan Selects India’s Ideal Playing XI For T20 World Cup 2022, Leaves Out Rishabh Pant

Former Indian cricket team all-rounder Irfan Pathan left out Rishabh Pant while selecting his playing XI for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The Indian cricket team is one of the 16 participants in the 2022 edition of the T20 World Cup. Last year, the Men in Blue finished third in their group and narrowly missed out on a place in the semifinals of the mega event.

This year, the Indian cricket team will play under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Although the last ICC T20 World Cup happened last year only, fans should expect some big changes in the Indian playing XI from their last T20 World Cup match. Irfan Pathan thinks Rishabh Pant may not find a place in the playing XI this time around.

Speaking on Star Sports during the coverage of the five-match T20I series between the Indian cricket team and the South African cricket team, Irfan said:

“In Australia you need strong starts as the ball swings and seams. You require player who has a experience. Kohli may not have performed well so far but in Australia he has scored a lot of runs.”

The two openers of the playing XI selected by Irfan Pathan were KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma. Former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli batted at number three, followed by Mr. 360 Suryakumar Yadav at number four.

Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja were the two all-rounders, with Dinesh Karthik being the wicket-keeper. The four bowlers were Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Here is the full playing XI:
