Mumbai Indians sign CSK allrounder Dwayne Bravo to play for MI Emirates in UAE T20 league

As the signings of different franchises are being reported for both the CSA T20 league and the UAE T20 league, some interesting developments can be seen. The latest of those developments is the signing of the CSK allrounder Dwayne Bravo by Mumbai Indians to play for their sister franchise MI Emirates in the UAE T20 league.

Dwayne Bravo had actually started his IPL career playing for Mumbai Indians, but it was at CSK that he became a proper IPL legend, as not only did he take a lot of wickets at CSK and also won the purple cap individually, he became a 4-time IPL champion with CSK as well.

Mumbai Indians and CSK probably share the most intense rivalry in the IPL and for Bravo to achieve so much at CSK and then go back to play for one of the sister franchises of Mumbai Indians, it’s a big development in the world of franchise cricket.

MI Emirates has signed two more big West Indies players for the UAE T20 league

Dwayne Bravo is not the only West Indies player that MI Emirates has signed for the UAE T20 league. They have also signed one of their own IPL stars Kieron Pollard and the West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran who currently plays for SRH in the IPL. Pollard is also expected to lead the MI Emirates.

Apart from these three marquee players, it has also been reported that the MI Emirates has secured the services of an uncapped England player Will Smeed who, only yesterday, became the first ever player in the history of “The Hundred” tournament to score a hundred.

Since Mumbai Indians own franchises in both the CSA T20 league and UAE T20 league and both the tournaments will run at the same time, MI Emirates will probably operate with a different management team, as their main management team will be with the MI Capetown squad in South Africa.
