“Have spent 4 days at home since January,” reveals famous cricket pundit Simon Doull

While the players are complaining regularly about the bio bubble fatigue these days and rightly so, as it’s not easy to live day in day out in a restricted environment, the former New Zealand player and television commentator Simon Doull has revealed that he has spent just 4 days at home since January.

Simon Doull has been busy working on various commentary assignments all around the world. He has been on air during almost all the high profile tournaments in recent times. Doull started his stint at the start of the year with the test series between Sri Lanka and England, before he moved to Pakistan for the first leg of the PSL.

After the postponement of the PSL, Doull’s next assignment was the first leg of the IPL, which was also postponed because of the COVID outbreak and Doull then moved to the UK to commentate on the test series between England and New Zealand, and then he was one of ICC’s commentators for the World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and New Zealand.

The former Kiwi fast bowler was back on the air again in September with the resumption of the second leg of the IPL in the UAE and then he continued with the T20 World Cup qualifiers and the super 12 and knockout rounds of the tournament, before immediately moving to India next for the T20I and test series between India and New Zealand.

A Twitter user asked Simon Doull how he has managed to spend so much time away from home and in different bubbles around the world, to which Doull responded saying it’s definitely not easy for him as it isn’t easy for anyone else either, but at least he is being able to do his job when so many other people around the world have lost their jobs and have suffered in different ways.

Simon Doull is currently a part of the commentary team for the Pakistan Vs West Indies T20I series

Simon Doull is even currently commentating on the T20I series between Pakistan and West Indies that is currently going on in Karachi. However, after this series, Doull is expected to fly back home, as it will be the start of the New Zealand summer, and he will have his commentary duties there as well.

But, to have the commitment and passion to travel all around the world and add flavour to the action on the ground with a strong voice behind the microphone despite an ever-evolving COVID situation, it’s commendable from Doull.
