3 players who could make a comeback to Team India if Gautam Gambhir becomes Head Coach

It is likely that Gautam Gambhir will be Team India‘s next Head Coach. It is a big move considering the stature of the cricketer. Some players also might get a new lease of life. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players who could make a comeback to Team India if Gautam Gambhir becomes Head Coach.

1) Nitish Rana

Nitish Rana made his India debut when a second-string squad visited Sri Lanka a few years ago. Since then, Nitish has not found a chance to make a return to the India setup.

He is a left-handed middle-order batter with the ability to bowl right-arm off-spin. At times, coaches tend to prefer players whom they worked with before or whom they are well associated with. In this regard, Nitish shares a good relation with Gambhir and hence, he could get a chance.

2) Navdeep Saini

Navdeep Saini is one of the players who could make a comeback to Team India if Gautam Gambhir becomes Head Coach. Saini has said many times that Gambhir helped him a lot to get into mainstream cricket.

At least in Tests, Saini still has a very good chance of being in the Indian Team. If Gambhir is the Head Coach, he might consider the Delhi cricketer because he knows his strengths very well.

3) Venkatesh Iyer

It is due to the KKR connection that Venky Iyer could get a chance in the Indian Team. Also, in the last two seasons, the Madhya Pradesh cricketer has been in good touch. He deserves another chance in the blue jersey.

If the likes of Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya are not doing well, Iyer has a chance in the Indian squad. He is someone who can bat at multiple slots and that would help his case further.
