Experienced England cricket team star James Anderson was dropped from the Test squad despite his decent performances in the longest format of the game. Anderson made a name for himself with his accuracy and swing. Even though he is not so young now, he has maintained his fitness and played regularly for the England Test team.

After a 0-4 loss against the Australian cricket team in the Ashes 2021-22 series, the England team selectors decided to make some changes to their squad. They dropped the veteran duo of Stuart Broad and James Anderson and picked some new faces in the squad for the ICC World Test Championship series against the West Indies team.

James Anderson does not play white-ball cricket, and he has never played in the IPL as well. The right-arm pacer works as a commentator and an analyst for Sky Sports, but Test cricket has always remained his priority, and now he is heartbroken because he was left out of the squad.

Reacting to the selectors’ decision to leave him out, James Anderson said on the Tailenders Podcast:

“I’m praying this isn’t the end. I’ve got one more go at digging deep. I’ve got a lot of left to offer – I’ve still got the hunger and passion to play. Another frustration for me is that it was just a five-minute phone call – it doesn’t really clear much up for you.”

Shedding some light on his legendary career, James Anderson has played 169 Tests for England, scalping 640 Test wickets. He played regularly for them in the year 2021, but the selectors have changed their minds now.

Anderson hopes that the new coach and new director come up with a different mindset and give him one last chance to prove himself in the England Test jersey.
