Kartik Tyagi became an overnight hero last night after he defended four runs in the last over of the IPL 2021 match between the Punjab Kings and the Rajasthan Royals. The former India U-19 cricketer had a tough task in his hands, but he surprised everyone and stopped the Punjab Kings from chasing four runs off the last six balls.

The four batsmen that Kartik Tyagi bowled to in the final over of the match were Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Deepak Hooda and Fabian Allen. These four players have the capabilities to hit the ball hard. However, they all faltered in the same over to hand Rajasthan Royals a 2-run victory.

The Rajasthan Royals posted a score of 185 runs on the board in the first innings of their IPL 2021 match against the Punjab Kings. This seemed like a par score because the Chennai Super Kings had defended 156 runs against the Mumbai Indians at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday night.

However, the Punjab Kings attacked the Rajasthan Royals bowlers, with KL Rahul scoring 49 runs and Mayank Agarwal recording his first IPL fifty in the UAE leg of this year’s IPL. It seemed like the Punjab Kings would be home comfortably, especially after Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran’s 57-run partnership. They needed four to win off the last over. Kartik Tyagi bowled a dot to start the over and then Markram took a single. Pooran lost his wicket on ball number 3. Hooda played a dot and lost his wicket on the fifth ball. Allen failed to score on the last delivery as RR won by two runs.
