“Bumrah Will Win Us T20 World Cup 2022”- Twitter Reacts As Jasprit Bumrah Picks Maiden 5-Wicket Haul In Home Tests

The Indian cricket team is currently playing the second match of the ICC World Test Championship series against the Sri Lankan cricket team at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The match began yesterday, and a total of 16 wickets fell on Day 1. Jasprit Bumrah bowled exceptionally well for the home side.

Earlier on Day 1, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to have a bat first. The Indian team got off to a decent starts. Quite a few top-order batters looked good in the middle but they could not convert their starts into big scores.

Middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer emerged as the top-scorer for the home team with 92 runs to his name off 98 balls. He smashed 10 fours and four sixes in his entertaining innings. Lasith Embuldeniya and Praveen Jayawickrama scalped three wickets each for Sri Lanka as the islanders bowled India out for 252 runs.


In reply, Sri Lanka got off to a horrendous start with the bat. They lost six wickets on Day 1 with only 86 runs on the board. Jasprit Bumrah enjoyed bowling in the middle with the pink ball. He took the wickets of Kusal Mendis, Lahiru Thirimanne and Angelo Mathews on the first day.

On Day 2 of the pink-ball Test, Bumrah completed his five-wicket haul quickly with the wickets of Lasith Embuldeniya and Niroshan Dickwella. India managed to bowl Sri Lanka out for 109 runs in just 35.5 overs.

Bumrah needed only 10 overs to take five wickets for the home team. He returned with figures of 10-4-24-5. His economy rate was 2.4, while he did not concede any extra runs in his economical spell.
