English opener Jos Buttler scored a century in his team Rajasthan Royals’ game against Mumbai Indians that happened on Saturday. It was a fine knock by the player, who now holds the Orange Cap. After a shaky start initially against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Jos Buttler then took on the bowlers to contribute to the team. It was a similar occurrence against Mumbai Indians, as well. Although he did have a few issues against Jasprit Bumrah at the start, he unleashed against Basil Thampi, who conceded 26 runs in a single over. From then, despite the loss of wickets at the other end, Buttler looked to be in top form.
Partnering with Sanju Samson, who was at his destructive self, Buttler helped RR post a good total of 193 on the board. His century came off 68 deliveries and included eleven fours and five huge hits out of the park. It required something special to get him out and it was a Jasprit Bumrah delivery that ended the terrific innings. The fine form of Jos will boost Rajasthan Royals, who do not have a long batting line-up. It needs to be seen how Jos would perform as the season progresses.
