“BCCI Secretary Gave Special Phone To MS Dhoni As He Would Not Pick Up His Calls”- Virender Sehwag

Former Indian cricket team batter Virender Sehwag recently disclosed a lesser-known story about the former Indian cricket team wicket-keeper batter MS Dhoni. Every member of the cricket universe knows that Dhoni is one of a kind human being who can remain calm even after winning a Cricket World Cup.

Dhoni has his own way of living life. Although his name trends daily on social media, he is not so active on any social media platforms. There was a time when he was an active Twitter user, but he had recently lost his blue tick on Twitter because he did not log in for more than six months.

It is a well-known fact that Dhoni loves nature and limits his use of technology. However, not many fans would have an idea that the wicket-keeper batter once did not pick up the calls of the BCCI Secretary. This led to the secretary giving Dhoni a special phone. He informed Dhoni that only BCCI officials will call on that phone.

When the secretary next time met him, he gave a special phone to MS Dhoni: Virender Sehwag

Recalling that incident, Virender Sehwag said:

“Once it happened that the BCCI secretary (name not revealed) called MS and he didn’t pick up the call. When the secretary next time met him, he gave a special phone to MS and told him that when this one rings, you need to pick it up.”

Sehwag mentioned that Dhoni does have a personal number, before commenting that he had no idea whether the former Indian wicket-keeper batter still had the phone that the BCCI Secretary gave to him.

Dhoni retired from all formats of international cricket on August 15, 2020. More than a year has passed since his retirement post. The Ranchi-based star still plays in the IPL for the Chennai Super Kings. Although he does not play international cricket regularly and is no longer the batter that he once was, Dhoni won the IPL 2021 championship as captain.

Ahead of the IPL 2022 Auction, the Chennai Super Kings have retained him for INR 12 crore. A CSK official recently confirmed that Dhoni will lead the team in the year 2022.
