BBL 2022/23: The Gabba, Brisbane Pitch Report And Weather Conditions

The Gabba will be the home for the Brisbane Heat in BBL. On that note, here, we look at the pitch report of the Gabba and the weather conditions in Brisbane for BBL 2022/23.

Brisbane Heat is one team that has not done well, so far, in the tournament. The team lost both of its first two games. Hence, the squad will be keen to start gaining momentum in the tournament. Back at their home, they would want to entertain the fans and also start scoring points at the earliest.

Brisbane Heat will want some of its overseas imports to fire consistently. Colin Munro is a veteran and he will be expected to step up. Sam Billings, too, will have to start performing to earn a spot in the England T20 squad. The team’s bowling unit is not the best in the tournament. Mitchell Swepson and Mark Steketee have to do well for the Heats to progress further in the competition. It will be interesting to see how the team does at its home ground.

So far, 10 T20Is have happened at this popular venue. Between Australia and South Africa, the first Test was recently held at the Gabba. The pitch resulted in a 2-day Test and hence, the pitch was not rated well. It must be seen how the track would behave in the BBL.

The average score batting first is 166. Teams have scored more than this multiple times in recent years and we can expect the same in BBL, too.
