Melbourne Renegades will play two games at the Simonds Stadium in the ongoing Big Bash League. On that note, here, we look at the pitch report of Simonds Stadium and the weather conditions in Geelong for BBL 2022/23.
The Renegades have started well in this edition. Although the team did not look exceptional, the squad has been able to start the campaign with two victories. It has been the skipper Nic Maddinson who has stepped up for the squad. He has produced two quality knocks, so far.
The bowling unit is also shaping up well. While Kane Richardson has been good, Akeal Hosein has added a different dimension to the attack. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, as usual, has supported the unit. Aaron Finch scored a 70 in the second game for Renegades and earned the Player of the Match award. The team will hope that the player turns out to be in a similar form throughout the competition. The likes of Sam Harper will also look to contribute in coming games.

Since 2017, this venue has hosted a total of 7 T20I encounters. Although teams batting second have won only three games, captains winning the toss could still opt to field first. This is mainly due to the rainfall predicted.
The average score batting first here is 147. An equal game between the bat and the ball can be expected at this stadium. Asela Gunaratne and Nuwan Kulasekara are the best individual performers in the batting and bowling departments, respectively, here, till now.

Rainfall will be one aspect that the games at Geelong may not be able to escape. As per the predictions, on both match days at this venue, rainfall is expected.
Temperatures, though, will range between 25 and 13 degrees Celsius. After Christmas, this is set to drop by two or three units.
