The Big Bash League has started and the Perth Scorchers will aim to defend their title. Here, we look at the pitch report of Perth Stadium and the weather conditions in Perth for BBL 2022/23.
It was a brilliant show by the Scorchers last season. They would like to emulate the performance and would hope for the established names to step up again. While Ashton Turner will lead the side, Josh Inglis will keep wickets. Faf du Plessis is one of the prominent overseas imports. The core of the squad, comprising the likes of Ashton Agar, Andrew Tye, Jhye Richardson and Jason Behrendorff will look to do well again.
The bowling department is the strength of the franchise. The team has some of the best pacers in the tournament. If batters like Josh Inglis and Turner can support them, they could defend the title. The team combined well to deliver last season. Management and fans will hope for a similar return this time around, too.

So far, 7 T20Is have happened at the Optus Stadium. Out of this, teams batting second have won five games. This is a clear indication of what lies ahead at this venue.
When it comes to T20Is, 134 is the average score batting first in this stadium. Sam Curran recently took a fiver in the T20 World Cup here. We can expect a similar show by the bowlers on this track.

As we progress in December, the temperature could hit as much as 34 degrees Celsius. Barring a few days of cloudy weather, the rain will not pose a threat in Perth.
Temperatures will drop by a few units in January. Around the middle of the month, some rainfall is predicted. However, it is not likely to have a big impact on the game.
