Melbourne Stars have had a decent start to the season. While they lost the first game, they were able to win the second encounter. Here, we look at the pitch report of Junction Oval and the weather conditions in Melbourne for BBL 2022/23.
For the Stars, batting will be the main concern. In the absence of Glenn Maxwell, the team has shown signs of vulnerability. Joe Clarke has already scored a century and the team will hope for a similar return from the cricketer. The likes of Joe Burns will also want to step up in the next games.
Skipper Adam Zampa will be the key in the bowling attack. Trent Boult is a massive addition to the squad and will have a vital role to play. Nathan Coulter-Nile is, of course, a key member of the bowling attack for the Stars.

So far, no T20Is have happened at this venue. In fact, even when it comes to BBL, the Junction Oval has hosted very few games in the past. It is only in the WBBL that this stadium has seen some amount of matches. Therefore, teams will have to use the data from these matches alone.
Batters are expected to have a good time on this wicket. The boundary size is small and the outfield is quick. There is also even bounce and hence, they can score well. Amongst the bowlers, the pacers will enjoy at this venue with some decent assistance.

We can expect temperatures between 24 and 10 degrees Celsius in December in Melbourne. Although highly unlikely, rainfall is possible in the final few days of 2022.
In January, though, there is rainfall predicted. Fans and even the teams will hope otherwise, as this could this affect their chances in the tournament.
