Backstage Update On Drew McIntyre’s WWE Contract And Future With The Company

Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract has been a major topic of discussion in the year 2023. Several reports surfaced online claiming that McIntyre’s contract would expire soon. Some even speculated that The Scottish Warrior was not happy with his position in the company.

With AEW All In happening at the Wembley Stadium in London, a lot of fans even speculated that McIntyre would make his AEW debut in front of 80,000 fans at the grand venue. However, the Scottish Warrior put a full stop on all the rumors by returning to WWE at Money in the Bank in London.

McIntyre confronted Gunther and challenged him for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. After losing to Gunher, McIntyre has formed a new tag team with Matt Riddle on RAW now. According to PWInsider, McIntyre will remain in WWE at least until WrestleMania XL.

“PWInsiderElite.com is told that the company has McIntyre now locked in until around WrestleMania 40, so that now gives the two sides in the area of seven months to finalize a new deal,” the source said. 

WWE is reportedly in no rush to renew Drew McIntyre’s contract. The two parties will sit down and have a negotiation next year.

As mentioned ahead, McIntyre took a break from WWE this year, which led to speculation about his exit from the company. However, it was later revealed that The Scottish Warrior took some time off to deal with nagging injuries.

WWE has reportedly added the lost months to Drew McIntyre’s contract, which has locked him in for the next few months. McIntyre and Riddle are involved in an intense rivalry with The Viking Raiders on RAW right now. This past week on RAW, The Viking Raiders defeated them in a Tornado Tag Team Match.
