2 changes India must make for the second Test against England

India took a lead of more than 100 runs in the first innings. Despite this, India ended on the losing side in the first Test against England in Hyderabad. The reason for this was the lacklustre bowling show in the second inning and also the disappointing batting effort in the second innings. Despite having a talented batting line-up, India ended short of a target of just above 200 in the last innings. The next game will be in Vishakapatnam and we can expect some changes to be made by the management. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two changes India must make for the second Test against England.

1) Rajat Patidar for Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill has been struggling to get runs in Tests. After a disappointing display in the first inning, he fell for a duck in the second inning. He is short of confidence and might need a break from the longer format.

It is also time for the management to try out a new option at No.3. Rajat Patidar has been in good touch and he would be the ideal candidate to take the spot at No.3. He is good against both pace and spin and is also in decent form. Hence, he could come in Gill’s place to the playing XI.

2) Kuldeep Yadav for Mohammed Siraj

Kuldeep Yadav for Mohammed Siraj is one of the changes India must make for the second Test against England. It is sure that the pitch will be made more assistant towards spin from the next game.

Hence, it makes sense to have Kuldeep Yadav in place of Siraj, who could not leave an impact in the first match. Kuldeep offers better batting abilities at No.11 when the game goes down to the wire. Also, the Englishmen could struggle to face him often with the red ball.
