IPL 2023: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Pitch Report And Weather Conditions

Mumbai Indians will play their home games at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Here, we take a look at the pitch report of the Wankhede Stadium and the weather conditions in Mumbai for IPL 2023.

Before the season started, the squad was dealt a heavy blow. Talisman Jasprit Bumrah will not play this season for the five-time champions. The squad does not have experienced domestic pacers and this means that they will have use Jofra Archer and another foreign pacer. This would leave the likes of Dewald Brevis and Tristan Stubbs searching hard for game time in IPL 2023.

Form is also a crucial factor for MI. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav have not been in great touch coming into the tournament. This will be one aspect that they will have to address as early as possible in IPL 2023.

The Wankhede Stadium has always been known to be a high-scoring venue. The pitch is usually flat and this could be the same for IPL 2023, too. Mumbai Indians have a strong batting unit and to support the home team, the conditions are likely to suit the batters.

When it comes to the bowlers, it will be the pacers who could have some decent time here. Especially in the powerplay, if the pacers can get their act right, they could be in the midst of few wickets.

It is the pre-monsoon time and hence, both in April and May, we can expect high temperatures. While in the day, it could touch 34 degrees Celsius, during the night, it could fall down by around 10 to 11 units.

Rainfall may not be a big problem during this time in Mumbai. Also, humidity would be high. Overall, at least, for the games to happen, there seem to be no concerns.
