Ashes 2023: England Playing 11 for the fifth Test against Australia Prediction

Ashes 2023 currently stands at 2-1 with Australia in lead.

The Ashes 2023 has reached its conclusion and it’s fair to say that the series has lived up to the expectations so far as both the games have been enthralling to watch. England and Australia played a high-quality brand of cricket as both the games went down the wire and there wasn’t any surety about who will win. If it was Australia, who won the first two games, England made a staggering comeback in the third game. Rain too played the part and washed out the fourth game which resulted in Australia retaining the Ashes.

Ashes 2023: England Playing 11 for the fifth Test against Australia Prediction

England will have no chance to win the Ashes but the fifth game will be an opportunity for them to level the ongoing Ashes 2023. They were sure-shot favourites to win the 4th game but rain played the spoilsport and washed the game. They would be eager to give it all in the last game and draw the series.

Coming to the playing 11 for the last game, England are likely to continue with the opening combination of Zack Crawley and Ben Duckett. They have provided the team with some great starts in the series and would be hoping to contribute in the 5th Test of the Ashes 2023.

Moeen Ali smashed a blistering half-century in the last game at No.3. He looked solid in that position and it’s likely that England would back him to bat in the top order. He’s also likely to play a crucial role with the ball. He has been a great addition to the team in this series as he has contributed equally well with bat and ball.

Joe Root no-brainer will be there at No.4 followed by Harry Brook at No.5. The duo has done the bulk of the scoring in this series for England and would be the vital cog for the team in the final game. Skipper Ben Stokes has played some magnificent knocks in this series and he along with Jonny Bairstow is likely to bat in the lower order.

Chris Woakes, who came into the team in the third Test along with Mark Wood has been a great addition to the team and the duo is one of the main reasons behind England’s comeback this series after the first two losses. They are likely to retain their place along with Stuart Broad, who has been their best bowler in this series. James Anderson has looked clueless in this series and might be replaced by Ollie Robinson for the last game.
