The Border Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia started on Thursday in Nagpur. Before the game, there was a lot of conversation about the pitch. Here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted to Ravindra Jadeja’s comment on pitch behaviour on Day 1 of the 1st Test of BGT in Nagpur.
India dominate on Day 1 of the competition
As expected, it was the host team that claimed the honours on Day 1 of the first game. It all started in the first few overs with Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami giving a terrific start to Team India. However, Australia’s two prized batters Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne started to build a partnership. At one point, they appeared that they would continue to get a big score.
However, once Ravindra Jadeja found his groove, it was hard to stop him. It is after a few months that Jaddu is playing for India. He marked the return with a solid five-wicket haul. Once India crossed the hurdle of Smith and Labuschagne, there were not many who could counter India’s spin attack. R Ashwin, too, got a few wickets. In the end, Aussies were bundled out for just 177. India started positively with the bat but lost the wicket of KL Rahul just before the end of the day. At stumps, India was 77-1.

Before the match, there were a lot of views about the pitch. The ex-Australian cricketers and the Aussie media were of the opinion that the pitch was being doctored to take Australia out of the game. However, the pitch was not one-sided. The pacers also had some assistance and it was not a rank-turner. If the batters could apply themselves, they could get a good score, just like Rohit Sharma did.
Actually it's a left handed Turner. Even kl thrown his wicket playing legside . There's nothing on offside
