A Week After Last WWE RAW Appearance, Big Name Confirms Retirement From In-Ring Competition

WWE has been the home to various veterans who went on to assume major backstage roles in the company. A prime onscreen fixture for Monday Night RAW, appearing regularly for the flagship show shed light on his retirement status.

Which WWE personnel spoke about his current status as an in-ring performer?

In a recent interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce stated that he could still compete inside the squared circle. However, he chose to remain retired for the last 10 years but highlighted his only two matches in WWE.

Pearce holds a victory over Shinsuke Nakamura in the main event of SmackDown five years ago. Subsequently, he also talked about himself and Braun Strowman teaming up to battle The Hurt Business in a losing effort.

“100%. Right now. How much do you pay me? I don’t want too either. I appreciate that though. I’ve been done for 10 years. December 21 of this year will be 10 years to the day I had my last pro match. Well, now I have to back up. If you rewind, five years or so I guess you could say that I hold the singles victory over Shinsuke Nakamura, which was in the main event of a SmackDown. And the last tag match I had if I’m thinking about that was as partners with Braun Strowman for the World Tag Team Title against Hurt Business, where I got beat.”

Adam Pearce has gained massive popularity as the onscreen authority figure of Monday Night RAW and intriguing interactions with multiple WWE stars like Bron Breakker and Chelsea Green.

While Pearce has ruled out competing in the ring despite being physically able to do so, we will have to wait and see if changes his mind in the future citing the never say never policy in wrestling as the fans would surely be enthralled to see the RAW GM throw hands inside the ring.
