Team India is currently not in great form when it comes to ODI Cricket. They recently lost the ODI series at home to Australia. On the back of this, the former England skipper made a bold statement about Team India. Here, we take a look as Michael Vaughan makes a bold statement about Team India and its chances in the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Vaughan talks about Team India at the 2023 ODI World Cup
Vaughan has been known for his straightforward views, be it on social media or as a presenter. While he usually triggers a debate with his views, he sometimes puts across opinions that get accepted by all.
His latest words about Team India seem to resonate with many. Here is what he told about Rohit Sharma and co.
India are a team under achieving so much in White ball cricket .. They have so much talent & depth .. 6 months away from a home World Cup & along way off from winning it at the moment .. #INDvAUS

The men in blue have multiple gaps to fill
India is a massive cricket team and it will host the ODI World Cup this time around. The last three editions have been won by the hosts and hence, there are a lot of expectations from the men in blue. However, at the moment, there seems to be too much on the plate for the management to work on.
Firstly, injuries are a major issue. While Rishabh Pant is already ruled out, Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer will have fitness issues if they make it to the World Cup squad. With this trio uncertain, a lot of balance is already lost and India will just have to try and negate their absence or ineffectiveness.
In the batting department, India would need the top-order and the lower middle-order to fire more consistently. This way, India can make full use of the batting depth and assert dominance on Indian pitches. The bowling, too, especially the spinners must get into the act more often than they are doing currently for India to ensure a winning run.
